The North American Power Credit Organization (NAPCO) was
founded in 1997. The purpose of the group is to provide a forum to network and
provide education
relating to current credit issues in the wholesale energy industry. Membership
is open to any company that transacts in the wholesale energy markets.
NAPCO has three main
objectives in helping its members:
Education - Each meeting will have a sizable
educational component meant to enhance the professional development of group
members.
Networking - Group meetings provide the opportunity to
engage in face-to-face contact with peers in the industry.
Mentoring - Each credit manager has strengths that can
be valuable to other members. Group members support each other by sharing
techniques, procedures, practices and experiences.
The organization holds three meetings per year in cities
throughout North America. Meeting locations are determined by member companies
who act as volunteer hosts. Meetings are facilitated by an independent third
party to allow for compliance with federal anti-trust regulations.
Each meeting contains a business meeting, education, and networking component
spread over two days. A dinner is held on the first evening to allow members a
chance to network in an informal setting.
NAPCO membership can be obtained through the payment of an
annual fee of $750 per company for full membership and $1400 per company for
affiliate membership. Company membership allows for any number of
company attendees for each of the three meetings offered per fiscal year (which
runs from February through January). Meetings are typically held in January, May and September. Non-members are charged a per person fee of $350 per meeting. Attendees
are responsible for their meals, travel and hotel expenses.
If you aren't already a member, please consider joining NAPCO
to enjoy the many benefits of membership.
