Founded in 1997, the North American Power Credit Organization (NAPCO) provides a forum to network and provide education relating to current credit issues in the wholesale energy industry.
NAPCO is not just about power (as the name may imply). It is a forum for credit and risk professionals to network and provide education relating to current credit issues in the wholesale energy industry (whether it be power, natural gas, petroleum or other energy commodities). Membership is open to all companies that transact in wholesale energy markets.
NAPCO's main objectives in helping its members are:
Education - Each meeting will have a sizable educational component meant to enhance the professional development of group members.
Networking - Group meetings provide the opportunity to engage in face-to-face contact with peers in the industry.
Mentoring - Each credit manager has strengths that can be valuable to other members. Group members support each other by sharing techniques, procedures, practices and experiences.
The organization holds three meetings per year in cities throughout North America. Meeting locations are determined by member companies who act as volunteer hosts. Meetings are facilitated by an independent third party to allow for compliance with federal anti-trust regulations. Each meeting contains a business meeting, education, and networking component spread over two days. A group dinner is held on the first evening to allow members a chance to network in an informal setting. In addition, attendees can earn up to a total of 10 certified CPE hours per meeting.
Company Membership:
NAPCO membership covers your entire company staff (as opposed to individual employee memberships) and enables their participation at a very reasonable cost!
NAPCO offers two membership levels – Full or Associate (Vendor) membership. Company membership allows for an unlimited number of company attendees for each of the three meetings offered per fiscal year (which runs from February through January). Meetings are typically held in January, May and September. Since each membership type is company wide, this means that all of your staff can take part in NAPCO's first-rate educational and networking opportunities.
Full Membership (for companies that trade energy)
- $750 per company
- Designed for those companies that are directly marketing or trading in the energy markets.
